A Family & National Emergency

It was a rough and confusing day for me. My tooth hurts like hell, my head hurts worse and I am simply dumbfounded by the actions today of both Plaxico Burress and John McCain. No, Plaxico is not McCain's Republican running mate, some experienced politician from our country's most sparsely populated state is.

Plaxico was suspended for 2 weeks (1 game plus the Giants bye week) and docked 2 weeks pay ($235k) for insubordination. He skipped two days of practice and didn't tell the team about it because of what he says was a family emergency. After reading about 65 pages of his new "self serving" book "Giant" about his life, I totally know this excuse is complete crap. I forgive him though because he caught the game winning touchdown in Super Bowl XLII.
He could streak naked on meth through a crowd of nuns walking through Times Square and I would forgive him.

Equally confusing and bizarre to Plax's behavior was John McCain's call today for the Friday night debate to be postponed so both candidates could help solve the nation's financial crisis. This makes no sense to me? How exactly could these two senators help solve the nation's crisis? Are they are on banking committee?
What is going on with this guy? I could see a call for postponing the debates if they were scheduled on September 11, 2001 or if someone famous was assassinated or something, but this makes less sense than Plaxico's excuse ... What is he thinking?

I know these two men are separated by 200 years of age, but they are frankly very similar because of just how confusing they acted today.

I think that decision may cost McCain the election. FYI: There is no banking committee, it's the Finance committee. McCain's weak point is economics and as such it was a bold political move to attempt to delay the campaign. That's all and I believe now that the bailout package has been rejected, he looks like a moron. I may go door to door in VA to generate some support from undecided voters, the Obama field director called me last night. We will see.
As far as Plexi-glass, why do you think Pitt traded an uber-talented receiver with the rare combination of size and speed. He has a lot of rope in New York because of his performances last season. People had the misguided notion that every Sunday he was some sort of her, when in actuality, most NFL players with that exact same injury put tape on it, PRACTICE and play. Did you notice that he was full-speed, every Sunday last year? He refused to wear the ortho-boot to help correct the injury in the off-season because it didn't feel comfortable. Then he claimed it was his ankle and not his contract that kept him from training camp. They had an in-depth piece on it on ESPN 1st take. I actually had a lot of respect for him and he has lost it. Now you are seeing the monster the Giants created by treating him like a spoiled brat. They see it too which is why they stipulated in his new contract that he would be fined and suspended if this behavior continued. He is and has always been immature. In Pitt, he pulled the same shit until they got tired of it and traded him. He is appealing his suspension with the NFLPA instead of admitting his mistake like a man. Now it looks like he was involved in a domestic dispute and that was his "family emergency." Ohhh and he has two restraining orders against him. This is an E True Hollywood Story waiting to happen. If you have any doubt, listen to his teammates reaction when he was suspended, they were privately fuming last year as he was treated as the 'golden child.' These are the types of reasons teams don't repeat.
