I've seen Derek Jeter make a lot of great plays over the course of his Yankees career, and the double play that he pulled off against the Minnesota Twins, was probably one of the top 3 best plays he's ever made. Of course behind the play against the A's in the 2001 Playoffs and the play against the Red Sox in 2004 (pictured above) when he dove into the stands.
Everyone says that catching fly balls in the Twins Metrodome is really hard to do because the ball gets lost in the white dome roof. Well, Jeter's flyball catch took the cakelast night. With two men on base, a short pop up was hit into shallow left field and Jeter sprinted backward, didn't turn once and caught an over the shoulder fly ball - Willie Mays style. He then quickly spun around and doubled off the Twins player who assumed the ball would fall for a single.
Not with Derek Jeter on the scene....
