I was really happy and proud of how the New York Giants played last night against the undefeated New England Patriots. They played as aggressive as I've seen them all season long. Eli was accurate, outplayed Tom Brady and didn't make a lot of mistakes - besides the one INT he had.
And if it wasn't for some poor calls and non calls by the referees, who let the Pats get away with murder on a number of occassions - Rodney Harrison is a dirty, dirty player - I think that the Giants could have won tonight. The refs were just absolutely atrocious from calling phantom holding penalties and personal fouls on the Giants to allowing the Patriots to get away with poking the Giants in the eye, hitting them out of bounds and a number of other poor calls. It was apparent that the NFL wanted the Pats to go undefeated. Many of the 15 people who were over our place last night - many who are not Giants fans - agreed with me.
Whatever the case may be, I think there were a lot of positives that came out of this moral victory and it will bode well for the G-Men in their playoff game next week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Go Giants!!

Thanks for letting me sit on the couch with you.
It was sexy.... and warm....
Moral victories don't mean shit in the playoffs. Giants are finished in Tampa Bay. In addition, when 3 players go out of the game because of injury in a meaningless game, it is a major coaching error. Gruden has been resting his starters for three weeks, you all will be gassed by the 4th quarter. Tampa Bay will beat that ass because Eli sucks and they will stack the box against the run.
The Pats came back from 12 down in the fourth quarter and went up by 10, no matter what you say, that is not all the referee's fault. Your pass defense against Randy Moss was atrocious in the fourth quarter and that ultimately cost you the game. Redskins are the team no one wants to face in the playoffs, clearly the hottest team in the league. Go Skins, a team of destiny.
sssooooo... chosen one... how do you really feel?
It was a little harsh, now that I am reading over it. I guess I could have summed it up quickly by saying, no pass offense + no pass defense = no chance in the playoffs. Too bad because they do have talent. Ya dig...
Coughlin has no concept of the big picture. He should have been focused on the Superbowl (resting his starters after the 1st qtr). Instead he was foolishly misguided into thinking the Giants should stop the 'streak.' They wasted their bye week. Thats like the Cowboys/Packers/Colts/Pats scheduling a scrimmage this week. Absolutely mind-boggling. If they don't win this week, he will be fired.
Let me say something up front... I hate the Giants more than any other team in the NFL...
BUT... Coughlin has done something amazing... he was the first coach in 12 or so years to take the Giants to the playoffs two years in a row.... and three times? I can't remember who did that.
Go RAIDERS!!!! Twice as good this year BABY!!!!
