I'll Take His Sloppy Seconds

I'm listening to NHL commish Gary Bettman - the man who killed the sport - talk to Mike Francesca on WFAN and I just can't believe what he's saying.

How is Sean Avery suspended for 6 games for saying that another NHL player is taking advantage of his "sloppy seconds". How is this inflammatory?

There are about 2,000 other things he could have said that were more inflammatory. I could type 10 things out right now he could have said that would have been worse.

This is coming from a toothless hockey player. Take a chill pill people...He's not speaking at the United Nations....And even if he was, it's nowhere near the story that some people are making it out to be.

Bettman has made some poor decisions...but he has also made some decisions (OTL, penalty shots, actually enforcing the rules and continuing to allow fighting) that are bringing fans back to hockey. Back to Avery, you are missing the point here. This is the straw that broke the camel's back, he has been a nuisance for a long time. This was a personal attack in which he brought the camera's to him in the locker room to spew a ridiculous personal attack. You should read what his teammates say about him, how they are not sure whether he is a team player anymore or just using the NHL to sound off on his personal issues. Those are the opinions I value not some radio host trying to produce headlines from the commish...6 games is a collective sentence for all of his transgressions not just this one.
